Welcome to the first year of track at Renaissance Academy! At this time, participation in track will be for 7th & 8th grade students only. Additionally, Renaissance will not compete in “field” events. Renaissance will only compete at invitational meets at this time.

Coach Roney & Coach Grace

My name is John Roney, and I am excited to be a coach for the 2022 season of RPSA Track and Field! I have recently finished my student teaching position at Renaissance and have now transitioned into the role of the Visual and Performing Arts Teacher. I have enjoyed every moment of working with students at Renaissance, and I am excited to continue guiding and developing their passions! I personally have a passion for running and endurance events. I ran XC and track in high school, and have since kept up with running and fitness through Spartan races and hiking. I also love to bikepack and have recently completed my first century of riding in the Summer of 2021! I strive to assist students in developing a foundation of interdependent leadership skills, through activities like track, that they can continue to build on throughout their life. I am looking forward to a phenomenal initial season of the Renaissance Track and Field team!

Hello! My name is Lauryn Grace. I’ve been at Renaissance since September, where I started out pre-student teaching with Islanders, then student teaching in middle school. Now, I’m a substitute teacher at Renaissance! I will graduate from Central Michigan University in May with a degree in Elementary Education. Admittedly, I’ve never ran track, but I love the character building and teamwork that comes with organized sports. I’m super excited to continue working with middle schoolers! Go Rams!
