Summer Basketball Open Gym Announced!
We are excited to announce that our current basketball coaches will be hosting open gym practices this summer! The open gym practices are for students that will be in 5th through 8th grade this coming fall – that are intending on playing basketball for Renaissance. The sessions will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, and the schedule is below. These sessions will follow our Closed Practice Policy.
Student-athletes MUST have a completed physical form with them when they arrive to give to the coach. Athletics physicals are good from April to April. Therefore, if you have not gotten your physical for the coming school year – please do so. Do not wait – especially if you’re planning on attending summer open gym practices.
Families: PLEASE make sure that your children are picked up promptly at the end of the open gym sessions.
MONDAYS in JULY: 8, 15, 22, 29
MONDAYS in AUGUST: 5, 12, 19
If you have any questions, please contact our athletic director at email@example.com
We look forward to seeing you at our sessions this summer! Go Rams!
Athletics Open House Announced!
Families: On August 20th, from 5 – 6 PM, we will be holding an athletics open house. This event will be highlighted by a Q&A session. In addition, hard copy athletic handbooks will be made available, for those of you that do not have internet access. This will also be a fantastic opportunity for anyone to turn in athletics forms and physicals early…and get that out of the way.
The location for this event is yet to be determined – due to the construction that will be happening at the school. The event will most likely be in the gym or a classroom.
If you have questions, please contact our athletic director, Mr. McCausey…and we hope to see you there!
2019 - 2020 Renaissance Athletics Update
Families: We are very excited about the upcoming 2019-20 school year, and continuing our athletics progress at all levels. As the new school year approaches, please check back often for the many new changes that will be taking place over the coming months. The Athletics Handbook will be revised and updated, and schedules will be posted as they are made available by those that work hard to put them together.
Regarding athletics physicals: Those can be completed now for the next school year. Athletics physicals are in good standing from April to April. Therefore, if you know that you are going to be participating in a sport here at Renaissance – do not wait. Get your physical completed today and bring a copy in to the office. We will make sure that it gets where it needs to be.
Have a great summer – and remember to check back often for the many changes that will be taking place. Go Rams!
A New Change for the Athletics Program
Beginning next year, Renaissance Athletics will no longer be transporting its student-athletes via bus. Many factors went into this decision, and we are more excited than ever about the direction our athletics program is headed.
We could not be more pleased with the service we received these past six years from Shepherd Schools, and their transportation department. They have been absolutely wonderful for our student-athletes, and they have been very professional to work with. That being said, we wanted everyone to know that our decision has nothing to do with the drivers or buses that transported us.
As I have mentioned in recent newsletters, and on this site, be
on the lookout for new and exciting changes to our athletics program. This is the first announcement, and there will be more to come. Please
understand that, as decisions are made, we will keep everyone informed of those changes. We are not trying to be mysterious; however, we do not want to announce decisions that have not been made.
Please understand that we believe every decision that is made is what is best for the program. What this decision DOES mean is that, moving
forward, families will be in charge of transporting their children to and from athletic events.
Be on the lookout for future changes…they will be announced as they are made. Thank you for your patience, trust, and understanding. Go Rams!
